Custom Calendar (9/12)

The photo for September I took on the island Maui on top of the volcanic peak of Haleakalā at a height of 10,023 ft (3055 m). In the the eroded valley carved into the mountain recent signs of volcanic activity are still evident as you can see from the various colors of the soil. What played a big role when I took this photo were the strong winds that pushed the clouds over the top of the vulcano and gave it its magic.
